Waterford, a community of up-market waterfront and interior homes initially developed by a Duke Energy subsidiary in 1997, is located on Lake Keowee in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Waterford Communities, off Rochester Highway (SC 130), near the Oconee County city of Seneca. Although primarily a waterfront home community, Waterford provides deeded boat slips in a community marina that convey with interior lots. The community amenities include a clubhouse, swimming pool and two tennis courts.
